The 4068
Children's Wrist & Thumb Support is designed to provide support to both the
wrist and the CMC joint. The anatomical design and small sizes enable a precise
fit for a child's small hands. The support is made of a soft, breathable
material that's colorful, too. Unique color-coded hook & loop closures on the
dorsal side makes it easy for children to apply the support themselves. An
adjustable thumb grip provides optimal support of the thenar muscle, while an
aluminum splint on the volar side supports the wrist.
Indications:
Instabilities of the wrist and
CMC joint.
Instructions For
4068 Wrist & Thumb Support
 |
It's important to select the right size for the child. Use the measurement
chart as a guideline but always have the child try on the support to ensure
the correct size. |
 |
Adjust the aluminum splint and place it in the support's pocket. |
 |
Try on the support with the adjusted splint in the pocket. Attach the hook &
loop closures, then adjust the thumb strap so the thenar muscle is supported.
If possible, teach the child how to put on and take off the support. The hook
& loop closures are color-coded to make correct application easy.
|
 |
Be sure to check the child's skin for pressure marks the first five times the
support is used. |
 |
If pressure marks occur, adjust the splint. If pressure marks still occur even
after adjustment, consult your therapist, orthotist or physician.
|
Washing Instructions:
Attach hook & loop closures
before washing. Hand wash the support in cold water with mild detergent. Let air
dry
